Al-Nassr Football Club has dismissed claims made by former club president Musalli Al-Muammar that he felt “cheated” by the club’s acquisition of football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. The Saudi Arabian club’s press adviser, Walid Al-Muhaidib, refuted the allegations, saying that reports in the Spanish press suggesting that Al-Nassr had cheated in the deal were false and baseless.

Spanish newspaper El Desmarque had earlier reported that Al-Muammar had allegedly made comments in an interview with Arabic News 50, where he claimed that he had been cheated twice in his life – once when he was given two kebabs instead of three, and secondly, when he signed Ronaldo.

However, Al-Nassr’s press adviser categorically pointed out that there is no such production as Arabia News 50, and the quotes were made up in jest which was then picked up by the press.

Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner who previously played for Real Madrid, Juventus, and Manchester United, signed a contract with Al-Nassr until June 2025, reportedly rejecting offers from Europe, North America, and beyond. Some media reports have suggested that the Portuguese star could be earning up to $200 million a year from the deal, making him the highest-paid soccer player in history.

While the club’s president, Musalli Almuammar, did not confirm the exact figures in Ronaldo’s contract, he did express that the 37-year-old deserves to be the highest-paid player in the world. Ronaldo’s signing has been widely hailed as a major coup for Al-Nassr, with fans eagerly anticipating the start of the new season to see him in action.
